INAUGURAL AUSTRALIAN NATURE JOURNALING CONFERENCE

The first Australian Nature Journaling Conference took place in Brisbane in May 2024 at the Queensland Museum, Brisbane. Citizen scientists, nature journalers, educators and nature lovers joined the event to foster interest in nature, build connections with local places and make a difference for the environment through deeper understanding and a love for nature. 

ANJA Conference Program

• Dates: 23, 24-26 May 2024
• Venue: The Queensland Museum, Corner of Grey Street and Melbourne Streets, Brisbane City. 

Citizen scientists, nature journalers, educators and nature lovers joined this inaugural event to foster interest in nature, build connections with local places and make a difference for the environment through deeper understanding and a love for nature. 

• Pre-Conference Session for Educators 9.00am - 12.00pm on 23 May 2024
• Two days of nature journaling presentations, discussion roundtables and networking with new and experienced nature journalers.
• Two afternoons with a range of nature journaling workshops on techniques, materials and subjects within the museum collection.
• Full day of field trips to local botanical gardens, parklands and wetlands.
• Welcome drinks event with a display of nature journals.
• Conference dinner with a Queensland Museum speaker.
• Picnic lunch in the park on the final day of the conference.

The Australian Nature Journaling Association is based on membership to promote networks with an interest in nature journaling, environmental education and greater awareness of nature.
