Are there conveniences nearby?

Sorell is the nearest big town with all the usual amenities. Smaller towns closer to Steeles Island are Dodges Ferry-Lewisham and Carlton. Local amenities include a great little supermarket and delicatessen, fuel outlet, gym, pharmacy, doctor, bakery, butcher, hairdressers, newsagent, post office and massage suite.

What else is there to do in the area?

If you arrive early or are staying longer, there are beaches, bushland pockets, and short walks close to Steeles Island—simple, peaceful spots perfect for a slow wander.
