Setting up your own group

If you are an ANJA member would like to set up your own nature journalling group, we can help.

Let us know about your group or intention to form a group and we may be able to put you in touch with other members who have expressed an interest and promote it through our channels.

Our tips

Choose a name for your group

  • Check the Australian groups (above) and the Wild Wonder Foundation's world map (link below) to see which groups might already be listed for your area and what names are already in use.

Make your own rules

  • Consider where to meet, how often, what time, and for how long. Do you want people to contact you beforehand?
  • What should people bring with them?
  • Consider getting public liability insurance.

How to get the word out

  • Join the Australian Nature Journalling Association (ANJA) on this site, if you're not already a member.
  • Join the Nature Journalling Australia Facebook group and let people know about your group.
  • Send us your group's contact details and a link to your online presence, if your have one. For members, we can publish your group's details on our website and quarterly newsletter.
  • Write an article about your special interest in nature journaling for the ANJA newsletter.
  • Register your club with the Wild Wonder Foundation so that it appears on their global map. Link below.
